Weekly AGR Session: March 20th 2011

Hey People!

Well, I only got to play 2 games last week – a brilliant, amazing, intense spit, and a sad, frustrating, pointless 2fort5r which started and ended with an empty RR. The cool thing about this website is that responses to these emails (and post game reviews) are now possible. Anyway, (once again) I have a commitment this week (remember Sundays 22:00 GMT = Monday Morning 9am Melbourne time), so I’m not sure how many matches I will be able to play this week, I’m going through withdrawal symptoms I tell yas, I need my 4 solid games a week. Anyway, there’s a lot going on, as you’ll read below including info re Gnarler in Japan (!), but for now lets get stuck into the details of this weeks Four Hours of Power, the weekly Dose of Drama we refer to as the:

What: Weekly AGR Session

Where: tastyspleen.net:26666

When: Sunday 22:00 GMT. Convert this to your timezone here

Who: People who need their Weekly TF fix!

Why: Because you’re not alone.

MAP SCHEDULE

1. flib10b (50 minutes*)
A great little map, with BIG action!

2. sewer1p (60 minutes)
Tough..  maybe (I can’t believe I’m saying this) I’ll try FR D. My faith is shaken after last weeks woeful 2fort5r..

3. cloudy (60 minutes*)
Quite liked this last time,  a lot of chaos outside, but Blue simply HAVE to get out there to face the enemy.

4. north1 (60 minutes)
Mayhem, and a troublesome door to the FR- watch it, Blue!

* times may vary depending on player numbers, vibe, and quality of teamplay.

OMCs tip: Spread the word re: our once a week event – a lot of people simply have no idea that ppl are still playing Q1 TF, others (the kids) have no idea this game even exists!

JAPAN SITUATION
Well it’s hard to get through this pre-match info bulletin without mentioning the Japan situation – it seems to be getting worse.. Gnarler sent me an amazing and disturbing email re his experience, and (with his permission) I’ve posted it here.

LAST WEEKS DEMOS = LOST! 🙁
Apologies, I did something very very stupid, and went and accidentally deleted last weeks demos (!). I’m very very sorry, that spit1 was definitely worth preserving. I accidentally typed “rm * .zip” rather than “rm *.zip”, and Linux is an unforgiving mistress.

CANALZONE
Well the response has been minimal, so I’m not sure what to do. I could just schedule it in as a regular map, but the scoring system is not compatible with AGR, so unless people are really interested, it might not be worth the bother.

.ENT REPAIRERS NEEDED!
There are quite a few maps that need fixing havoc6, hfactor, bastion, ewg3, and engbat. If anyone w some ent editing skill wants to give it a go, please let me know – also I still want that well6 grate to be closable via det!

See you Sunday!

ps Newbies: read the FAQs in the links above!
pps I’m still setting up (and learning about) the ‘subscribe’ bits of this website, they are all untested, and if any RSS or ’email feed’ Guru has any insights / tips, let me know, thanks!
