Weekly AGR Session: 17 July 2011

Hi all,

Well, there has been a FRENZY of activity in the AGR world, and I write these words with my head still spinning from testing the new upgrade to AGR (more below). I don’t know whether to introduce it all in one go, or a little each week, like with the last update. What I *do* know, is that the games are about to become very VERY exciting, and a whole new bunch of maps that were once deemed unplayable will now be playable. Also, the upcoming ‘ToughMap’ mode will mean that players like myself who have felt the pressure to go Blue because the map was ‘too tough to D’ will have a chance to go Red. I might even rename it ‘GurusOnRed’ mode.. (?!). There is also still one slot available on the DreamTeam, for the upcoming DreamTeam challenge (more info below). Whatever happens, AGR is about to take a major step closer to achieving perfection in its vision of advanced teamwork and relentless action. The type of action that will only be experienced at that Hostel of Hostility all know as the:

An interesting map, we haven’t done for a while. I don’t know it well enough to offer tips. If you have some, post them below, or in the forum.

4. street1(60 minutes*)
Always tense in that final corridor to the FR, and Blue have to watch out for teles.

* times may vary depending on player numbers, vibe, and quality of teamplay.

OMC’s tip: If you have your own tips, let me know, and I’ll put them in!

TOUGH MAP MODE [EDIT: rename it ‘GurusOnRed’mode?]
This has not been tested fully, and I am DYING to see it in action. ToughMap mode is a mode where Blue have an easier time, and Red have the challenge. I’m pretty sure I should do a separate article on it.

THE DREAM TEAM
At the end of the day, the *point* of the AGR Sessions is advanced gameplay for those who are seriously into TF. The only way for standards to improve is if people get the chance to see what a real ‘pro’ gameplay looks like. I’m willing to put my rep on the line. If I’m wrong about my obsession for 2fort5 RR D, I’ll face your ridicule. But if I’m right, I NEVER want to see an empty RR again. You know, everyone has an ‘opinion’ on what works and what doesn’t when it comes to TF gameplay. But there’s only 1 way to KNOW, and that’s to DO it. We have the server, we have the players, and we have the perfect mod to test this. What *is* the perfect defense for a particular map? There is one final slot available for 1 person to join the Dream Team, so the time for action is NOW. We’re discussing 2fort5r D, and this will be the first DreamTeam game, and we can do this as soon as we have a team and everyone’s ready. On the day, the server will be set to DreamTeam mode, which means only DreamTeam members can join Blue (or Red). If you are interested in classy, advanced TF gameplay (and if you’re reading these words I know that you are), then head to the AGR forum right now, express your interest, and be part of TF history!

See you all Sunday!
