I think from memory you don't always need this. Pretty sure it'll still load up the rest of the entities. I think what happens is it doesn't enforce the teams correctly. Like if there is a dm starting location, it'll allow a player from teams 1-4 (in some versions it allows colours / teams 0-15) to spawn there. Best to have it though.
Yes, you're right, i tested and the test map *seemed* to load fine, and capping/scoring worked. I didn't know about the spawning issues. Also, I looked at the code, and info_tfdetect makes the server run a function called UpdateAbbreviations which 'translates' some abbreviated stuff in classic maps into variable names the code uses internally. ie it HAS to be there for older maps.

So yea, I'll leave it in.
