Throwing Knives

How about Throwing Knives in a grenade slot. Say 50 damage.

Perhaps it could be "primed", the longer you hold it the higher the damage. If you hold too long you cut yourself, or drop on foot, and give caltrop effect.

Either that or a straight throw like flare.

Perhaps the flare could be primed to, to give great light radius. Hold longer for greater radius but less duration. If held too long, set yourself on fire (1 hit of flamethrower).

With the right cost, perhaps it could do bonus damage vs. soldier bots.

Hmm.. not sure how often ppl buy flares.. (really need to put in something to record stats on what players buy)

I LOVE the throwing knife idea! I wonder if the current knife can be somehow thrown.. ie what key combination would do it..

Perhaps if you don't buy a profession, you could just use skill.

I still think it's best to use a grenade slot though.

Could really have something like speed stats at the end of a match, could be something to look at during intermission.

Top 3 Frequent Deaths.
(1) Rocket @ 200
(2) Rifle @ 150
(3) Grenade @ 100

Top 3 Killers.
(1) Unnamed @ 200
(2) Player @ 150
(3) Jonan @ 100

Lowest 3 Total Deaths.
(1) Unnamed @ 5
(2) Player @ 10
(3) Jonan @ 20

(1) Throwable Knives
(2) Throwable Axes
(3) Throwable Spanners
(4) Dud Grenade
(5) Implosion Grenade
(6) Giblet Grenade
(7) Cloaked Grenade

(2) Same damage as normal axe. But, if they don't hit an entity, they can be picked up again, from whatever brush they might be stuck in.
(3) Same damage as spanner strike, however, it can disable machines. Perhaps for just 1-2 seconds would be enough.
(4) A normal looking grenade, which does only 10 damage. With a really long timer. Which can be used to fake people out.
(5) When this grenade goes off, it pulls you in, rather than pushing you away.
(6) A grenade disguised as a gib. Or perhaps a grenade that explodes gibs. Kind of like EMP with ammo.
(7) An invisible grenade. Low damage though.

I definitely like the idea of things you can throw which stick out of walls, or stick out of players (like TF2). Hmmm...

You've left throwing axe enabled on the server.

Also, can't seem to fire a second rocket with the laser guided RL. Just stuck on RL.

Aw man it was gonna be a surprise! :) Yea, I had a go at it a few nights ago. Still a wip. One thing: It doesn't 'stick out of walls' properly. Not sure if
A: it can be fixed,
B: if the fix is going to be REALLY complex and take ages, and
C: if it really matters anyway

Also, how should it work?

A: Separate command to throw?
B: It throws if you miss somethign immediately infront?
C: It throws if you hold down your mousue button?
D:?

What should happen if you switch weapon while axe is out of your hands?

That sounds like a bug. I'll have a look later on today (thanks for leting me know!)
