Axe

Axe does far less damage than knife. Which doesn't make to much sense.

Obviously it is a free item, so you can't just give it crazy high damage or speed, but perhaps there are some other work around's to give it some more usefulness.

(1) Bonus Damage vs Buttons
(2) Bonus Damage vs Monsters
(3) Leg Damage, like Sniper Rifle or Caltrops, for a short period of time
(4) Bonus Damage vs Machines

What if we replaced the axe with fists, Doom style? :)

(5) 1 second disable of machines with an axe hit.
(6) An axe hit would downgrade a machine by one. Like you are chopping pieces off it.
(7) Each hit on an enemy grants +1 megahealth, and/or +1 red armor.

Perhaps Megahealth could give a Berzerk axe mode.

(8) Each axe kill grants you +1 damage to your axe.

(9) Axes do extra damage for each special armor on a player.

Axes relate to cutting things, spanners to upgrading.
In any case, I don't see the point - a L1 SG can still be lethal.
The current spanner + enemy SG = disable is workin well, yea?

Just to add some novelty.

What's the point disabling? You can destroy. You have to get so close to do it too.

In CustomTF one spanner hit would remove anything that wasn't Ice3, which I thought was too cruel, as martyr/tanks could get close easily.

Disabling for 60 seconds, is a decent payoff, the snapper dude gets a chance to kill the machine anyway during that time, and Eng (+teammates) has a chance of saving their Equipment.
