Using the id command to identify thiefs bug

Post by ripednail »

When i play thief, sometimes im moving and someone notices me on the side of thier view in the distance and I stop to become invisible. Or when attacking someone and fleeing around the corner i hide and the dont know where i am and shoot randomly usually without luck. Some people have bound an ID key to identify where im at and i believe its a bug.

The 'id' command is not a bug, anyone can bind it to a key, point somewhere, and it shows you 'what is there', including 'thieves' / invisible players. I'm not sure if this is 'fair' or not...

On one hand, it seems unfair for people to be able to check for thieves, for free. Otoh, you have to manually do it, and that takes time... and the 'thief detection' is OFF when 'auto-id' is purchased.

What do people think - is it fair? I might make this a topic for the next vid...

thanks for bringing it up.
