Why does the Incendiary Canon cost more than 1 rocket to fire?

I know that's how TF had it. But it makes little sense. They fire slower and move slower than a regular rocket. Do less damage, per hit. Might do the same if you include the burn time, but that doesn't stack, just restarts the timer. Poor splash damage, and poor propulsion for assisted jumping. Only upside is no reload, maybe, if you reloaded RL after 1 shot every time, it would be close.

I'd prefer if you could buy them separately. Perhaps first selection both, then once more for only one, then again for the other.

Or a long range flame thrower, or make it bend around corners.

Hmm.. yea, the Incendiary Canon doesn't seem *that* popular, maybe because of the reasons you mentioned..

... what if we just got rid of it, but kept the 'flame thrower' ... w long range as an option?

Here's some suggestions.

(1) Lower the cost. Perhaps to the same cost as Grenade & Pipe Launcher.
(2) Make the Incendiary Canon cost 1 rockets to fire.
(3) If they cost 0 rockets to fire, the player could then discard the rockets, and make himself less vulnerable to EMPs. Cells are already deadly.
(4) Make it shoot the lavaball.mdl.
(5) Make it give a half sized RJ.

Perhaps something that fires the Hell Knight's flame effect?

Could probably do a grenade like that, kind of a napalm / nail grenade cross. Maybe it shoot in vertical circles, rather than horizontal ones like the nail grenade.

How about a Long Range Grenade Launcher / Incendiary Canon hybrid to replace the Incendiary Canon.

Clip : 6
Ammo : 1 Rocket Per Shot
It would fire out an Incendiary Grenade out like the Long Range GL from Mega. It would be the same effect as the "rocket" that we currently have. But you would be able to bounce it off walls an such.

Any chance of getting separate models for the Pyro Toys, Tranq, Pipe Launcher?

Even if it is just a straight copy of the RL, GL, and Shotgun models, it would then give other players a chance to customise it if they chose to.

Are you talking about the VWEP - ie the thing you see on *other* players hands?

(6) Having asbestos armor grants you extra boost with Incendiary Canon, same height as Rocket Launcher.
