Weekly AGR Session: 8th Jan 2012

Hi everyone.

A Big Session last week, classic TF action, and AGR insanity w Classic Maps. A great start to 2012! We have dune1 coming up this week, a difficult map, which demands a structured D. ToughMap mode will help slow Red down, but won’t stop them giving a relentless pounding to a clueless, disorganised and incompetent Blue. I’d suggest a D focussed on control of the upper walkway, over the RR. Btw, we had almost 20 people on last week, and a lot of ‘new’ old skool players are rediscovering the joys of Q1 TF, thanks to everyone who is helping spread the word about our Weekly institution, the Basement of Brutality we call the:

What: Weekly AGR Session

Where: tastyspleen.net:26666

When: Sunday 22:00 GMT. Convert this to your timezone here.

Who: People who like the sound it makes when a player blows up.

Why: Because the noise WILL be heard!

MAP SCHEDULE
1.bedlam12 [PENDING TECHNICAL ISSUES] / 2phan7(50 minutes*)
No idea if it will be ready. I’ll try! Otherwise, its 2phan7!

2. dune1 [ToughMap mode](60 minutes*)
It’s tough, ok? If you think you can defend dune1 in non-toughmap mode, let me know (in the comments section below), and I’ll happily switch it off.

3. oppose1(60 minutes*)
Some success w RR D last time we played this, though the safest IMHO is the upper room..

4. z7 (60 minutes*)
I might D at the lift!

AGR VENTRILLO SERVER
We use a voice chat ventrillo for voice chat during AGR games. Download it, install it, and connect to 78.129.193.9, port 4298, AGR (Red+Blue) channels. Password is sent to those on the AGR Mailing List, but if you ask nicely during the game, someone might help you out.

DEMOS
Thanks to Sapphired, this Session (and previous ones) will be available for download here.
=================================

OMC’s tip: Remember: Test your registration by connecting during the week, and email me if it say “you are not registered”

VACCINATIONS FROM VOMIT POOL DISEASE
There’s been a change to how disease and vomit pools work: Once a medic heals you, you are protected (vaccinated) from vomit pool borne diseases for that lifetime. Note: The vaccination only lasts until death, and you can still catch diseases from bio grens or direct infection by a medic.

INTERMISSION MAP 3!!!
I simply haven’t had time to work on it, thanks to the Gurus who have contributed their (amazing!) stuff, I’ll be putting it all together (hopefully) in the coming week

Happy New Year and see you Sunday!!

    Cheers!
People of AGR today is full moon session – it’s always a great challenge for everyone involved in war for flags. Expect lot of psy/troll/flame attacks from dickheads and just ussual AGR retards, be patient, make sure your chat off, don’t respond/follow to troll’s psy attacks, dispute less, try to keep calm and control. Just play.

We can expect everything – from server crash to pre organised massive sabotage and total madness infection.

If you feel like want to kill someone, make it in game only. Dont go mad. I remember all previous full moon sessions – its had always accident. Take care

can’t we do something better than 2phan? sewer? swamp? well? fcast?

    • sapphired

Only if you’ll behave like a good boy.

dune1 – t-mode + it depends on ho ppl will play
      z7 – is overplayed
sewer – need at least 12 ppl

dune1+z7 – propose to replace with something else, rare played

If you pay attention, every week or so there is a new player saying “this is extremely frustrating” trying to download at 8kB/s and constantly getting disconnected due to a server problem. How many players have turned away due to that? we’ll never know. its a disgusting first impression. Bringing your server into the broadband era and fixing that disconnecting bug should be your first priority at the moment IMHO.
