Weekly AGR Session: 5th June 2011

Hi everyone.

It’s a time of change in OMC’s world. Travel plans are afoot, and whilst the future is unclear, I hope it has reached the point now where these Sunday AGR Sessions have become an institution, and that the future of our little game is assured. This is why the quality controls are (and must remain) strict, the format protected, the Map Schedule scrutinised, the nonamers monitored, the BS minimised, and above all – NOTHING distracting from the gameplay. I NEED to go to sleep at night knowing that no matter what happens there WILL always be a place I can go, once a week, and get a BIG dose of TF action, the kind of action that we must never take for granted, the kind of action that in 2011 can only be found at that Faculty of Ferocity we all know as the:

What: Weekly AGR Session

Where: tastyspleen.net:26666

When: Sunday 22:00 GMT. Convert this to your timezone here.

Who: People with TFitis

Why: To get your medicine.

MAP SCHEDULE

1. wallmart (50 minutes*)
Blue will need to move OUT!

2. japanc (60 minutes*)
Blue will need to stay IN – D TWO paths to the FR – in this case FD D *is* the way to go!

3. desertf3 (60 minutes*)
Blue will need to move OUT – lock down that corridor, and NOT be afraid to take the fight to Red!

4. runic_tf [PREMIERE}(60 minutes*)
Ok, this was unearthed by Doc, and I like it. Simple layout, interesting architecture – lets see how we go.

* times may vary depending on player numbers, vibe, and quality of teamplay.

DEMOS
Thanks to Sapphired, this Session (and previous ones) will be available for download here.
=================================

OMC’s tip: AGR is teamwork based; it is intentionally difficult for solo attackers; the game assumes that Red will work together, so if you want more triumph, and less defeat, talk to your teammates.

NEW VOMIT
What an appealing title 🙂 This is really, cool, so it will soon be in a separate article!

See you all Sunday!

Ya man, we are junkies of our little piece of pixel based visual dynamic, 3d action, fps , team fortess class based game. Its our legal pill from depression and loneliness, like prozak pill.

I instist on map voting, wallmart flaty smap-type map. No fun, just waste of energy.

japanC its not proper designed for custom tf. its good for quakelive.

    Other map name not sure.

i think when there is more than one entry into the base, splitting up can be quite effective. the walmart air conditioning is broken i suggest t-shirts and shorts, do not bring children or pets. goodbye good luck

Gone asleep rigth before session start, how it was? Any good demos? How many ppl? Trolls? Dramatic caps? Hero defence? Great teamwork?

Imho Session was good, but not great. I think we peaked at 18 ppl. I don’t know if i should bother putting up demos of games which were ‘average’. Otoh, others might disagree, and also I was a little distracted and sleep deprived.

KOP is happy because todays Session featured non-Classic maps, but I think in hindsight, we should have only had 1 non-regular map, as we normally do.

Wallmart was frustrating. Blue didn’t move out enough – though if Blue study how to D walmart, they will see that it’s a textbook example of why FD D fails. Red must be weakened BEFORE they get to the FR area!
    Japanc was tough.
desertf3 was BS – red was sniping and enging (?) – so it was minimal reds wasting time trying to penetrate Blues base. Some vicious sniping from Blue.
runic_tf was ok, but i didnt get a ‘rush’, its imho too small for the number of people we had at the time.
Overall, there wasn’t enough coordinated teamwork today, it didnt help that my audio wasn’t setup properly (couldn’t use vent). Of course, as I’ve seen in the demos, there’s an amazing amount of stuff happening during games, and so for someone else, the Session might have rocked!
